3. Data collection on our website

Cookies

Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping basket function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are treated separately in this privacy policy.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are

  • Browser type and browser version
  • operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server enquiry
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

4. Web Tracking Using Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web tracking service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). The purpose of using this tool is to analyze your interactions with our website and apps, allowing us to improve our offerings and make them more engaging for you as a user through the resulting statistics and reports.

We primarily collect interactions between you as a user and our website using cookies, device/browser data, IP addresses, and website or app activity. Google Analytics also collects your IP address to ensure the security of the service and to provide us, as the website operator, with information about the country, region, or city from which a user is accessing the site (so-called “IP geolocation”). However, to protect your privacy, we use the anonymization feature (“IP masking”), which means that Google truncates IP addresses within the EU/EEA by the last octet.

Google acts as a data processor, and we have entered into a corresponding agreement with Google. The information generated by the cookie and the (usually truncated) IP addresses about your use of this website is typically transmitted to and processed on a Google server in the USA. According to Google, it has committed to a standard comparable to the former EU-US Privacy Shield and has pledged to comply with applicable data protection laws for international data transfers. Additionally, we have agreed to so-called Standard Contractual Clauses with Google to ensure an adequate level of data protection in third countries.

The legal basis for collecting and further processing this information (which is retained for a maximum of 14 months) is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal. In apps, you can reset the advertising ID in the settings of Android or iOS. The easiest way to withdraw your consent is through our consent manager or by installing Google’s browser add-on, which is available at the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

For more detailed information about the scope of Google Analytics, visit marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/us/. Google provides information about data processing when using Google Analytics at the following link: support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en. General information about data processing, which Google states also applies to Google Analytics, can be found in Google’s privacy policy at www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/.

5. Plugins and tools

Google Web Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the standardised display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google's servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Our website uses features provided by the Vimeo video portal. This service is provided by Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.

In addition, Vimeo will receive your IP address. This also applies if you are not logged in to Vimeo when you visit our website or do not have a Vimeo account. The information is transmitted to a Vimeo server in the US, where it is stored.

If you are logged in to your Vimeo account, Vimeo allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.

6 Our social media presences

This privacy policy applies to the following social media sites

Data processing by social networks
We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The individual social networks we use are listed below.

Social networks such as Facebook, X etc. can generally analyse your user behaviour comprehensively when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g. like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media presences triggers numerous data protection-relevant processing operations. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. However, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data collection takes place, for example, via cookies that are stored on your end device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. In this way, interest-based advertising can be displayed to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, the interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are logged in or have been logged in.

Please also note that we cannot track all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and data protection provisions of the respective social media portals.

Legal basis
Our social media presence is intended to ensure the widest possible presence on the Internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

Controller and assertion of rights
If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. You can assert your rights (information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g. Facebook).

Please note that, despite the joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing procedures of the social media portals. Our options are largely determined by the company policy of the respective provider.

Storage period
The data collected directly by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g. in their privacy policy, see below).

Your rights
You have the right to receive information about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data free of charge at any time. You also have the right to object, the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Furthermore, you can request the rectification, blocking, erasure and, under certain circumstances, the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
