How is the neural intercom system structured? We call the smallest unit the NeuroUnit. These are intelligent network participants that can realise all the capabilities of the NeuroKom® IP principle even in a combination of just two units. Each NeuroUnit works with its own real-time operating system. This makes the applications fast, extremely secure and reliable. All common network protocols and security features are available.
Many NeuroUnits form a neural network. The basic principle of NeuroKom® IP! A total of up to 9,000 NeuroUnits can currently work together in an intercom network, with each one capable of performing different tasks and dealing with the respective location. Classic NeuroUnits are IP intercom stations.
What can NeuroUnits be? The NeuroKom® IP system does not require central components such as a hardware control centre, server or cloud. Instead, the IP system simply works in the network with intelligent end devices. This eliminates the classic ‘single point of failure’ – a very important security aspect.
Neural building communication for voice, data and more is implemented, with each function being handled by one or more NeuroUnits. This is basically capable of integrating loudspeakers, microphones, inputs/outputs, buttons, keyboards and, via USB interface and I²C adaptation, other devices such as video cameras, access control readers or evaluation and signalling devices into a NeuroKom® IP concept.
NeuroKom® IP is versatile and multi-optional as an intercom system, PA system, multicontrol system, extended radio system, emergency call or response system or exactly what you have in mind!

Existing systems and components, including those from third-party suppliers, do not necessarily have to be discarded if the conceptual requirements change. The exceptional integration capability and downward compatibility of NeuroKom® IP technology is therefore a further strength, which is supported by a range of hardware and software interfaces. At Gehrke, we attach great importance to changing only as much of the existing infrastructure as is really necessary. This saves money and protects the environment.
Do you already have a system, e.g. a building management system, running successfully and need additional functions or components? With NeuroKom® IP, you can integrate a single NeuroUnit or an entire subsystem. Expand your existing infrastructure with particularly reliable and fail-safe technology from Gehrke. You can control these intelligent units via your familiar user interface.
Neither an app nor additional software is required. An Internet browser is all you need to configure the NeuroKom® IP devices from Gehrke and set them up for individual use by the operator or end customer.
The intercom stations are given the most important settings via the browser interface: IP address and mask, then just the relevant call number and volume settings. Three to five settings are therefore sufficient and the NeuroKom® IP device works as desired. Additional selection fields are available for advanced functions.
Adaptations to security and communication concepts no longer pose any major challenges for the operator, as the only requirement for integrating additional Gehrke NeuroKom® IP units is an existing network. The neural call stations are supplied with operating voltage from the network via PoE (Power over Ethernet), meaning that no additional cabling is usually required apart from the network cable. Almost every building today has a network.

A clear YES! NeuroKom® IP utilises all the advantages of network cabling. Thanks to their multifunctionality, networks are far superior to conventional cabling, such as low-current cabling via telecommunication cables.
With NeuroKom® IP, we have completely reshuffled the intercom cards. The biggest advantage: no centralised instance, server or cloud is required for the individual units to work! The charming side effect is that you save a lot of licence costs.
This is where we are particularly strong! NeuroKom® IP cancels out the media discontinuity between telecommunications, intercom and network technology. This makes far more flexible solutions possible than in the past. The NeuroKom® IP principle is the logical further development of conventional intercom systems and uses network technology as a basis without losing compatibility with existing intercom technologies or customer solutions.
